Tips for Sellers

As a service to my clients, I'll use this page to offer advice about how to prepare a property for sale.

Buyers decide which home to purchase based on comparison. Just as every person has good days and bad days, so do homes. It is critical that your home stay in the best condition. The following are a few ways to create a positive atmosphere in your home!

1.)If closet or bedroom doors don't close easily, leave them ajar when showing the house so people won't struggle with them.
2.) Curb appeal is of utmost importance! All lawns should be freshly cut, wash down side walks, pull weeds from the garden.
3.)The entry is critical! The buyer starts forming their opinion before they ever step through your door; freshly paint the front door, cleancob webs away, & place a plant near the entrance.
4.) If it is hot make sure it is cold in your house. You can raise the temperature when the buyers are gone.
5.)Obviously, cleanliness is imperative; most important being kitchen and bathroom.
6.) Make sure all lights work.
7.) If you are a smoker, you may want to start going outside until your home is sold. The odor left behind from cigarettes is undesireable.
8.) Put clothes and papers away, leaving counter space free of odds and ends. Clutter is unappealing to potential buyers.
9.) Soft music and a fresh scent, you are ready to go!
10.) GOOD LUCK!!!!
